Address from the President

Suzhou Health College is a full-time college with 100 years’ history which is subordinate to Health Department of Jiangsu Province. Its predecessor is Nurse School of Boxi Hospital founded in 1911, attached to American Christian Church. It has fostered a good many professional talents of medical science for Jiangsu Province for a long time. In 1997, Nurse School of No.1 Hospital attached to Suzhou Medical College was merged into the school. In 2002, No.2 Health School was also merged into the school. It was promoted as an advanced vocational college in the year of 2005.

The 100-years’ course of our college cohere the persistent struggle of many generations of the staff, and it was engraved with their dreams and pursuit. With its size enlarged, scientific level improved and teaching personnel advanced, the college was developing through the years. The college occupies an area of 750 mu, with nearly 400 staff and over 7000 students.

Under the direct guidance of provincial Health Department, with the guiding principle of “develop the country by relying on science and education”, our college has tried every effort to move forward, improve facilities, regulate management and strengthen the teaching faculty. It has cultivated high-qualified health talents one batch after another that are very popular among the society.

Our college is very active in external communication to raise teaching level. It has service practice bases such as Suzhou Huaxia Stomatology Hospital and its False Tooth Processing Center, Suzhou Eye Hospital and Sanyuan Hotel ( 4 star hotel also for foreigners) and Nutrition Canteen, which not only bear relevant teaching task, but also provide service for people outside. It has over 40 stable clinical hospitals of third level to practice outside the college,more than 200 practice sites locate in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai etc. They provide very good environment for clinical interns and practice of all specialities.

Our college has won provincial and municipal “Civilized Unit”, “Civilized College”, “Advanced Vocational Education Unit of Jiangsu Province”, “Provincial Advanced Unit of Graduate Employment” and so on. Suzhou Health College is like an old but vigorous tree with abundance of flowers and fruits.
